Consonance: Music

Jesus How Long

(Consonance)

I wrote this song in 1967 when Paul, Stanford and I were members of the Mighty Gospeltones of Richmond, California. This song was their signature song and was always a crowd pleasure. For the "Message Of Hope" project, Stanford wanted to rearrange the song and let Consonance sing it in a unison style. The results are on this cd. I hope you enjoy it.

Jesus how long will it be.
Before you come back, come back for me.
I am tired and I'm worn, my life is sometimes torn.
Come back for me, come back for me.

Father, I'm waiting, day by day.
When Heaven's just a few, days away.
I am patiently waiting for you to return.
Come back for me, come back for me.

For I am waiting for you to come.
Just to carry your servant home.
Then we'll sing a brand new song.
And we'll never more to roam.
Ohooooo, Ohooo, Ohooo, Ohooo

Come back for me, come back for me.
