Marin City Soul, Blues and Jazz Party

Consonance performed on Sunday, September 5, 2011 at the Marin Soul Party!  Although this was primarily a blues festival, Consonance stole the show from many of the dynamic blues artists.  Jimmy MacCracklin, Curtis Lawson and Fillmore Slim were on hand to provide some soulful blues.  But it was Consonance who stole the show.

The group did a 5 song set that was energetic and had the crowd on its feet.  Their Good News Blues #3 was a crowd favorite as well as their opening number, Come On In This House.  The extended solos by Tim Landis, lead guitarist, and Chris Tse, keyboards, were awesome.  The group also performed a song from their new cd, Message of Hope.  That song, Wonderful, is a Temptation-inspired smooth southern-styled song that is slick and full of praise.  Vocally, you cannot match the powerful leads of Mack Williams, Paul Foster, Jr. and Bobby Reed.

In all this was a stand-out performance for a group that is rapidly gaining a reputation for stellar live appearances.  If you have a chance to catch them, I suggest that you do that.  You will not be disappointed.
